Parts Storeman - Donford Motorrad Cape Town

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Parts Storeman to join the BMW Motorrad Cape Town team. The successful candidate will assist with the efficient management of our parts inventory, ensuring accurate stock control, and providing excellent service to our workshop technicians and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management: Receiving, inspecting, and accurately processing incoming parts deliveries, storing them systematically to prevent damage, conducting regular stock counts and cycle checks, and managing stock levels (including slow-moving items).

Workshop & Customer Support: Issuing parts to workshop technicians accurately and in a timely manner, preparing parts for customer collections, and processing parts returns and warranty claims.

System Administration: Utilizing the manufacturer's Electronic Parts Catalogue (ETK) and dealer management systems (DMS) to record all movements, process orders, and maintain updated pricing and part numbers.

Quality & Safety: Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment, including the proper handling of hazardous materials like batteries, chemicals, and oils.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Essential

• Previous experience as a storeman, although not critical, would be preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn dealer management systems
• Good numeracy skills for stock control and invoicing
• Physical fitness to lift and move heavy parts (up to 25kg)
• Valid driver's license

 Desirable

• Some knowledge of automotive parts terminology

Working Conditions

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday
• Occasional Saturday work may be required
• Working hours typically 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Parts department and warehouse environment
• Some heavy lifting and physical activity required
